Thank you for your interest in the Aqua Lab Technologies 220µ filter bag with the Original Zipcro Locking Strap. This Aqua Lab Technologies Zipcro filter bag works in conjunction with any brand of multiple bag ice-water filtration kit,
along with any size or shape of top loading laundry washing machine. When using a laundry washing machine for ice-water separation processes, make sure the machine is new and free of any detergents or chemicals.
Using the Zipcro Filter bag:
1. Make sure to fill the washing machine half full with ice and cold water. Better results will be achieved when using multiple sizes and shapes of ice pieces. This can easily be accomplished
by dropping the bag of ice on a hard surface, or using a hammer to break up the pieces of ice. For best results, try to keep the water temperature at 4° C (41° F) or lower.
2. Open the zipper all the way on your Zipcro filter bag and pour a small amount of ice into the bag covering the bottom part of the screen.
3. Place the dried plant material that is to be processed into the bag. For best results, and to prevent any unwanted plant material from falling into the washing machine, fill the Zipcro filter bag while it is outside of the washing machine.
The goal of using the Zipcro filter bag is to only have 220µ material and smaller in the finished water of the washing machine before passing the water through your set of ice-water filtration bags. This helps to achieve a faster filtration and a better quality product. The quantity of dried plant material used depends on the size of the Zipcro filter bag that you have
(Small 50-150 grams / Large 500-1000 grams). Always make sure to remove any hard branches within the plant material, for they will damage your bags.
4. Add a little more ice to the Zipcro filter bag, then pull the zipper closed, and secure the Zipcro Locking Strap to the other end.
5. Carefully place and submerge the Zipcro filter bag into the washing machine that is already half full with ice cold water.
6. Check the water level in the washing machine. If necessary, add more ice and cold water. Close the lid on the washing machine and set to your desired time. Turn on the
machine and start the agitation.
7. For best results, run the machine for a short time the first time. Stop and drain the water in the washing machine through your set of ice-water filtration bags.
8. Before removing the wet Zipcro filter bag from the washing machine, rinse the Zipcro filter bag and the washing machine with cold water. Let
this water drain through your set of ice-water filtration bags. You can also hand squeeze the loose water from the Zipcro filter bag.
Note: For multiple runs, fill the machine half full of ice and cold water and repeat the above steps.
Cleaning and maintaining your 220µ Zipcro filter bag:
After using your filter bags, immediately remove any wet plant material from the bag. Turn your Zipcro filter bag inside out and rinse it with clear cold water. There will always be a little plant material that is difficult to remove.
Hang dry your Zipcro filter bag in a well ventilated area until dry, then shake the plant material free from the bag.
To maintain optimum performance of your Zipcro filter bags and keep holes from clogging, occasionally rinse the bags with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Remember to store your Aqua Lab Technologies 220µ filter bag
in a dry place for future use.
